Home Energy Audits

Before buying a single panel, find out where the house leaks. A real audit with real instruments - not a walkthrough with a clipboard.

What the audit measures

  • Blower-door test - how leaky the house actually is, in numbers
  • Thermal imaging - the cold walls, missing insulation and sneaky gaps, made visible
  • Insulation depth and condition in attic, walls and floors
  • Duct leakage - where heated air escapes before reaching rooms
  • Combustion safety checks on furnace and water heater
  • Bill analysis - what you pay for heating, cooling and everything else

What you get

A written report ranked by payback: what to fix first, roughly what it costs, and what it saves each year. Often the top items are boring - attic air sealing, a band of missing insulation, a crushed duct - and they beat glamorous upgrades on pure return.

We fix what we find if you want us to, but the audit stands alone. Use it with any contractor - it's your roadmap either way.

Common questions

How long does an audit take?

Two to three hours on site, with the written report a few days later.

Is this just a solar sales pitch?

No - audits frequently postpone solar, because sealing and insulation shrink the system you'd need. Cheaper first, panels after.

Are there rebates for this?

Often, for both the audit and the fixes it recommends. We track current programs and include them in the report.
